Beginning tomorrow morning at 9 a.m., crews will begin installing shoring towers for the Navy Pier Flyover’s steel spine. The work will take place over Grand Avenue, and will impact pedestrian and vehicular traffic near lower Lake Shore Drive and Grand.

Closures include:

- The eastbound lane for Lake Point Tower garage access and the southernmost westbound lane. The detour for Lake Point Tower garage access to be posted for eastbound Illinois, northbound Streeter and westbound Grand.

- The pedestrian island at the northeast corner of Grand and lower Lake Shore Drive. Pedestrians can use the south sidewalk on Grand.

- The east sidewalk of lower Lake Shore Drive between Illinois and Grand.

- One eastbound lane of lower Lake Shore Drive between Illinois and Grand.

There will also be intermittent 15-minute night-time closures of all lanes on Grand from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Pedestrians will be able to use the north sidewalk on Grand during night-time work.
