Setting and welding of the Navy Pier Flyover’s steel spine is continuing over Illinois Street at northbound lower Lake Shore Drive and is progressing south toward the Ogden Slip. The closures on Illinois Street will remain in effect through mid-November.

The right lane of Illinois Street will be closed east of northbound lower Lake Shore Drive for placement of a temporary shoring tower. All sidewalks will remain open except on the east side of northbound lower Lake Shore Drive between Grand and Illinois, which is closed in conjunction with the ongoing work at Grand Avenue.

There will also be intermittent 15-minute night-time closures of all lanes on Illinois Street from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
