Construction crews have been hard at work this summer as CDOT moves through the first phase of the Navy Pier Flyover construction.

The lane that’s currently closed on Upper Lake Shore Drive is expected to reopen at the end of September, as crews have replaced a portion of the Upper Lake Shore Drive bridge deck and are continuing to build parapet walls along the side of the bridge.

The current traffic pattern on Grand Avenue is expected to remain in place through the middle of October while crews continue constructing the foundation at the intersection with Lower Lake Shore Drive.

All pile driving to construct the foundation in this first phase is complete, which will reduce noise in the project area.
